My Photos and Images...
After 3 years baking and decorating my sugar cookies for Christmas, I enjoyed all the things I was learning in decorating with royal icing.

Valentine's 2022 was a great time to be creative and use the decorating techniques I learned from some really great cookie decorators.
Writing on cookies is not that easy!
I always wondered how 'they did it'... and I would come to find out there are many tricks to achieve a smooth, written message. So I practiced the word 'Love'. As you can see, a little shaky but not too bad for first timer!
And when your new to cookie baking, you find out quickly that there are so many tools which help to create these amazing decorated cookies.
Recently, in fact, just last week I ran across a couple videos that showed the 'stencil' technique. And I gave it a try. It worked!
Soon you will see my sugar cookies decorated with Initials and other sayings. It's all so much fun to learn and then get in the kitchen and just do it!

Last year, wow time goes by fast! Enjoyed getting really creative with my royal icing techniques. Candy canes are a favorite cookie cutter, along with stockings and christmas trees.
Putting more dimension into my decorating!
I always wondered how 'they did it'... and, again, I would come to find out there are many tricks to achieve a smooth, but puffy, dimensional look. So I practiced on my trees and some came out pretty good. Looking forward to next Christmas!

Piping and Flooding! - Christmas 2019
Going into my second year of baking rolled out sugar cookies, I learned more about royal icing, piping and flooding. Each time you bake and decorate, believe it or not, it gets easier. And looking back at these photos reminds me of this... if you love what you do, you eventually WILL get better and the mistakes are just part of the journey.
